Bogus cops rob four senior citizens

NAGPUR: Some miscreants posing as cops decamped with substantial valuables by targeting senior citizens at four places on Wednesday. Offences have been registered at different police stations, including two at Beltarodi.
In the first case, 67-year-old Madhukar Kale was robbed of valuables worth Rs53,000 on Outer Ring Road by three unidentified persons posing as cops on checking duty. He was returning home after withdrawing some cash from a bank at Khamla. A case was registered at police station.

In another incident, Sanjay Gundewar, 65, was robbed by three impostors claiming to be cops on Manish Nagar Road when the victim had stopped for a tea break on the way to bring his grandson from school. The tricksters fled the spot with Gundewar?s valuables worth Rs37,000. The impostors had approached Gundewar as cops guiding citizens about on security. Gundewar later approached Beltarodi police station to register an offence.

In another similar incident, also within limits of Beltarodi police station, three persons robbed 61-year-old Girdhar Parate near Saptagiri Nagar. Parate was heading to a temple when he was robbed of valuables worth Rs55,000 by the impostors on the pretext of checking.

In an incident within the limits of Ajni police station, 68-year-old Puroshattam Moon was robbed of valuables worth Rs36,000 by three persons posing as officials of State (CID) engaged in anti-drugs drive.
