Rap legend imprisoned on 28 years for hit-and-run

Marion Knight whom some of us may know as Suge, the rap musician, will go to prison for 28 years. He faced charges in 2015 hit-and-run death, connected to Straight Outta Compton film.

His murder trial was delayed because of a chain of bizarre events. This Thursday pleading no contest, he was charged officially for an accident.

Plea deal for Suge was reached few days before the start of jury selection in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Suge was charged not only with hit-and-run but also with attempted murder and murder. It happened in result of a dispute that happened on set of the trailer for popular biopic including and Knight himself.

According to the official documents, Knight killed 55 years old businessman Terry Carter from Compton California. He also made injuries to his consultant in security Cle Sloan, when Knight ran both of them over near the burger stand.

Lawyers of rapper insist that Knight was acting in self-defense and tried to flee away.

Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles Country District stated in official announcement that Knight would be sentenced for 11 years of imprisonment as a part of plea bargain, which is doubled based on 3-strikes law of California. Suge has already had prior convictions.

He also received 6 more years for using violent deadly weapon, which is pickup truck Ford F-150 Raptor.

They also announced that official sentencing will take place on October 4.
