Stage set for Dushyant’s Jind rally today

JIND: The stage is set for first independent rally of Ajay Chautala’s sons Dushyant and Digvijay on Sunday at Pandu Pindara village of the district. Separate stages are being put up for cultural activity and seating of Dushyant and other leaders.

Rally organizers claimed that 1,500 workers would handle overall arrangements of event on Sunday. Dushyant’s supporter have already covered the district with posters and banners.

Despite Dushyant faction still calling Om Prakash Chautala’s as their tallest leader, the former CM’s photo is nowhere to be seen. Only their grandfather Devi Lal’s posters are visible all around.

Organizers said that only the Hisar MP would address the gathering and seek support for his new outfit, reportedly to be named ‘Jan Nayak Janta Party’.

Digvijay had already made it clear that his brother Dushyant will be the only face in the rally and he would formally announce the name of new outfit. “Rally will start at 11am and lakhs of people would participate in it. Dushyant would address the gathering at 1pm,” he has said.

The the new party finally taking shape the Chautala family will now be spread across four parties. Now Chautala family members are part of BJP, the Congress, INLD and the new outfit of Dushyant.

Aditya Singh Chautala, who is son of late Jagdish Singh Chautala, son of Devi Lal, is active in BJP from Dabwali constituency of Sirsa district.

Former deputy prime minister and two-time chief minister Devi Lal, who is also known as ‘tau’, had become active in politics in 1930 and worked till his death in April 6, 2001. When Devi Lal became active in pan-India politics, instead of Ranjeet Singh he declared Om Prakash Chautala as his political successor in 1989. After that Ranjeet quit the party to join the Congress and has stayed their ever since.

When Om Prakash Chautala and his elder son Ajay went to jail in junior basic teacher (JBT) scam, his younger son Abhay took the party responsibility. However, fissures soon appeared with Dushyant and Digviajy finally being expelled from the party following the allegation of indiscipline and hooliganism. When Ajay came in support of his son he was also expelled from the party.
